Man these are tough to decide.

1.  Babe Zaharias, I am a little bias because I live in her hometown.  We have a Babe Zaharias golf course and Museum.  She was a gifted athelete that competed in more than one sport at the highest level.  Armstrong dominated just one sport and overcame great odds with cancer but i will say "The Babe".

2.  Jim Thorpe, the same reason.

3.  Bo Jackson,  if he wouldn't have gotten hurt he would have gone down in the history books.  Hershel was more of a college stud.  His pro career was decent.  He's better known for getting traded to Minnesota Vikings for about 12 players to the Cowboys.  Thank you Hershel you made it possible for my Cowboys to dominate the mid 90's.

4.  Wow this is tough.  I'll have to go Jim Brown.  If he would have played more years he would have had the rushing title for sure.  I love Walter but Jim was the man.  A little before my time, but he dominated.

5.  Jackie Robinson  this is a coin flip for me.

6.  Kareem is definitely better.  When I see clips of Wilt. I really beleive Kareems skill set was tremendously better.  He's college and pro career were awesome.  Wilt was just so much taller than he's competition.  I think Kareem would have dominated Wilt.  The sky hook changed the game.

7.  Jesse Owens

8.  The Babe, he is and always will be known as the best baseball player of all time.  He dominated he's era.  Joe was great but the Babe was the shiznit.

9.  Deion changed the cornerback position as well as returning kicks.  He also was a very good baseball player.  John could have played baseball too, but chose football.  If you talk about best cornerbacks in history Deion is at the top.  If you talk QB, John is up there, but he is not the best.  Deion was blessed with unworldly talent.

10.  This is my upset.  Dave Winfield, was a gifted athelete, could have played basketball too.  I really don't know a whole lot about Marciano.  I know he was great but overall I think Dave takes him.

 

I missed the first two rounds.  Surely, this is not the top 10 of all time.  Because, there are several athelets that come to mind that are not on the list.  For example, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus,  Barry Sanders, Larry Bird to name a few.

Great debate though.

 

Oh,  Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, and Jerry Rice too!

This is the first time I caught this blog, I voted, but aren't there some names that have been left out.  Michael Jordan beats out both Wilt and Kareem and Ali beats out Marciano hands down.  Also Mickey Mantle was by far the toughest and most talented baseball player to play the game.  And until this year I would have never voted for it, but Michael Phelps has to be on the list.  He has won more Gold Medals than anyone in history.  And Babe Zaharias, come on, Tiger would f_ck her up! 

I am sure that these names may have come up in previous discussion, I just don't see how they were left out.

Where is Michael Jordan And Larry Bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are some of the best Ever!!

They used to do that Met-Rx AllStars competition where they got guys from a variety of sports and let them duke it out, what would be interesting if some seriously rich person or group (Richard Branson??) was able to land ten or so world-class athletes from a variety of sports and let them have at it. Give each participant $3 million for a week (they'd probably have to give Tiger 5mil), and have them run, jump, throw, catch, test aim and accuracy, swim, row, whatever.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but Bo Jackson is easily the best athlete of all time. I don't know how the votes will go, but as far as the actual correct answer, this one was over before it began.

4. Sweetness (hands down one of the best I have ever seen at making people miss)

6. Wilt( scored 100 points in one game only person to come close is Kobe Bryant)
7. Kersey( she was exceptional)
8. Babe Ruth( hitting, pitching, drinking and smoking all at the same time enough said.)
9. Prime Time(Deion sanders was the better athlete and that is what the question is)
10. Dave Winfield ( sorry rock but Winfield might have been able to go the distance with you)
